Who we are

This website is run by Caring Hearts Homecare Services, a private organisation providing home-based care for the elderly and people living with developmental disabilities in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape. We are the responsible party for the personal information you share with us through this website, as described in the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

When you use the booking form on this website we receive the details you type in:

• your first and last name
• your phone number and email address
• your street address, if you choose to give it
• the service you are interested in
• anything you write in the message box

Please only share what we need to respond to your enquiry. You do not need to send medical records through the website; our team will talk to you directly about the care your loved one needs.

Why we use it

We use your details to respond to your enquiry, to discuss and arrange the care or course you asked about, and to keep a record of our conversation with you. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your permission.

Who can see it

Your enquiry is sent by email to our team and stored securely on our website so that it is not lost. It is seen only by the people at Caring Hearts who need it to help you, and by the service providers who host our website and email on our behalf. We only share your information with anyone else where you agree to it or where the law requires us to.

Other services this website uses

To display our pages, this website loads fonts from Google Fonts and, on the Contact Us page, a map from OpenStreetMap. When these load, those services receive technical information such as your IP address, as with any website request. Links to WhatsApp, Google Maps and phone or email apps open those services, which have their own privacy policies.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our website software may set small functional cookies that are needed for the site to work. If we add analytics or other cookies in the future, we will update this policy first.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only for as long as we need them to respond to you, to provide any care you arrange with us, and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations. After that we delete them.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No website or email system can be completely secure, so if you have a concern, please contact us.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to us using it. To do so, contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
